Normal price because of sales from 280 to 120 € for 2 days in dbl; location (not far from railway and city center)
small room; not all recepcion speak english well
It the hotel was very helpful in allowing us to leave our bags with them while we spent the day in Verona, before catching our train to Milano. The location to the railway station was a big bonus, and the main reason we stayed here.
For a family of five, it was a bit inconvenient not having more choices of restaurants close by. The breakfast was okay. Always had a hard time opening the doors to our rooms, and the bathrooms - when you are arriving late to a hote, and just want to get in and unload, the last thing you want to be doing is trying get your hotel room door open!
The location is very good for the railway station and still close to the city centre, making it convenient for walking everywhere. The breakfast was good and the room was clean.
The real glitch, but I believe it applies to all of Verona, is that the price of the room doubles if there is an opera on that evening.
We got to the hotel after 9:15pm we needed to be at the Arena de Verona at 9:15pm where the opera peace we had tickets for had already started, the staff where very helpful in getting us a taxy immediately and they held our luggage till later after midnight when we finally got back from show and checked into our rooms.
Check inn area is separate from hotel entrance.
Helpful, English speaking female receptionist. Continental breakfast was very good. Bathroom was very clean and functional with a good shower and plenty of towels. The free shuttle to and from the Opera arena. Quiet location.Very near the main train station.
No bar/coffee shop in the Hotel Piccolo - these are available in its sister hotel next door. The location of the hotel is more than a fifteen minute walk from the centre of the city ( in very humid conditions while we were there). Only one staff member on reception at busy check out time. An earlier shuttle to the opera would be welcome for people who want to eat in the arena area beforehand.
It was ok but constructions going on that we were not informed about. Impossible to sleep early in the morning but when we told the staff we were offered another room. Location was good but next time I would try to find a room at the main hotel Martini, where the reception is situated, next to this.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Internet connection service was terminated. They offered in-house PC to check the site, but I could not use my PC to check emails.
The hotel was walking distance from the train statiıon which was handy. It's a wee way into town but you can hire a bike at the hotel and they have plenty of info about the city.
Staff was quite nice, and they could speak English, what really helps, if you have no knowledge of Italian.
It was difficult to find the place first time.
the hotel is in the city center
reception is in the next building, so you carry your baggage alone from one building to the other, and the other and to the room. The rooms are very old and not comfortable. The price is high but the service is bad. We stayed in an underground room with the high price.
the hotel is very bad for the requisted rate: room are very small for double room the internet not available in room ( we must stay at the loby to use it and it is not suitable) breakfast was not good and we asked for meet not bork and they didn't arrange (we informed them that we are moslems and don't eat bork) we were in scalzi hotel last year and it was better and in good rate. please you must mention the rooms size in you discribtion for hotels.
The hotel is near to train station and a bit far (20mins walk) to Verona city center. It is over-priced. There is no coffee making facilities in the room. Average breakfast. We booked hotel Martini in advance but our booking was cancelled by the hotel with weird reason. Later we booked this hotel because the location is just next to hotel Martini which is nearer to the train station, but at a higher price. When we arrived, we realized that both hotel Martini and Piccolo are the same management. We felt a bit cheated.
The hotel, for the price, was great. It was a 15 minute walk to the old part of Verona which was fine and it was easy to find, the staff on the front desk were helpful and gave us directions and a map.
There was no reception at Piccolo but next door at the adjoining hotel but that was only a minor inconvenience. My bed was really squeaky / creaky.
Proximity of the railway station; comfort; the after all cordial employer (owner/management?) that received us.
The wrong principle of asking us to leave our identity card on the reception in order they fill-in the form whenever they want, which we obviously refused. This fact brought a certain tension and unpleasent moments, that nevertheless were broken with a very positive change of atitude of the employer/owner/manager (?), that in the end was sincerily kind and helpful. But it is good to remember that we pay a service that includes a complete and efective check in done when we arrive, and that the identity cards shall be immediately given to the owners. The hotel is far away from the center, but actually it was our choice to stay next to the railway station since we wanted to travel in the next morning to Florence without visiting Verona more than a couple of hours.
Relatively close to the city center and to the station. 15-20 minutes walk and you start enjoying the city right after you leave the hotel, so the walk is not boring. Excellent fitness room and sauna. Very nice buffet-breakfast. Good cereals with some extras like nuts and succade. Home made cakes. New furniture. Room clean and fresh painted.
The room was stuffily. We had to open the window...and actually slept with the open window.
